Below are the Savage Worlds Setting Rules and Power Level we’re using for this campaign.

Refer to the Savage Worlds Adventure Edition (SW or SWADE) or Super Powers Companion (SPC) for additional information.

Setting Rules

Born a Hero (SW)

Ignore Rank requirements for Edges during character creation.

Comic Book Combat (SPC)

Combined Attacks, Knockback, Power Stunts, and Synergies. Combat feels more Super.

Conviction (SW)

Heroes can earn special Conviction tokens to boost damage.

Creative Combat (SW)

A raise on a Test in combat grants a roll on the Creative Combat table for special effects!

Death & Defeat (SPC)

Heroes are more likely to become incapacitated rather than dying.

Fanatics (SW)

Henchmen will dive in front of attacks against their Wild Card bosses.

High Adventure (SW)

Heroes can spend a Benny to gain one time use of a Combat Edge (must meet Rank and Edge requirements)

Larger than Life (SPC)

May take 1 additional Hindrance at creation for more points.

Mega Destruction (SPC)

Superhero battles can cause massive damage to nearby structures.

More Skill Points (SW)

Characters have 15 skill points at creation.

Never Surrender (SPC)

Incapacitated characters can rejoin the fight with a Joker.

No Finishing Moves (SPC)

Players are Immune to Finishing Moves

Rising Stars (SPC)

Heroes gain more Super Power Points during the campaign (up to the power level maximum).

Heroes will have a chance to Respecification to retool their Powers once they’ve gained their maximum Super Power Points.

Throwdown (SPC)

Ignore Unarmed Defender rule.

Villainous Conviction (SPC)

Villains earn Conviction too!

Wound Cap (SW)

Maximum of 4 wounds on any 1 attack.

Power Level

The campaign is Power Level III (45/15) with the Rising Stars setting rule. This means characters begin with 30 out of 45 Super Point Points (SPP) and a maximum Power Limit of 15 during character creation.Β

Later, (likely once Seasoned), a narrative reason why your character has acquired more β€œpower” will be introduced, unlocking the remaining 15 power points to max out at 45.

Respecification

Around Seasoned Rank, possibly at the same time that characters acquire the rest of their SPP, players will have an opportunity to β€œrespec” their characters permanently. This allows a player to recreate their character up through all current advancements, utilizing any newly earned power points.

This is great for fine tuning a character concept, or scraping one that didn’t work as planned.
