Background & Overview

Born Mia Castillo to a Filipino-American mechanic and a Mexican immigrant mother, Fury grew up in the inner city, where she trained in Kali (Escrima) and Jeet Kune Do from a young age. She discovered her short-range teleportation powers in her late teens during a dangerous encounter with gang members threatening her father’s auto body shop.

With her new abilities, Mia adopted the mantle of Fury, using her teleportation to enhance her rapid, precise attacks. Known for her fearless spirit and quick temper, Fury fights to protect her community, disorienting and defeating her enemies before they can react.

Fury is a lean, athletic woman in her mid-twenties with short, dark hair and intense brown eyes. She wears a sleek black motorcycle jacket with crimson accents, paired with reinforced combat pants and boots, blending style and practicality.

Origin Story

Discovering her teleportation powers in her late teens, Fury paired them with her formal martial arts training and vowed to take on the underbelly of the city.

  • Melee Attack (11): Fury can channel her Chi into a flurry of quick attacks
    • Unarmed: Str+3d6+1d10 damage, +2 Fighting (Martial Warrior), 2 AP, can Charge (limited action) for +1d6 on next action.
    • Escrima Sticks: Matched Set. Str+4d6+1d4 damage, +1 Fighting (TM Weapon), 0 AP. Contingent Stun (see below)
  • Obscure (1) gadget: Fury makes use of small smoke bombs to obscure her movements and attacks. Thick Smoke (–4 Dark), LBT, limitations: gadget (vial), cannot reposition once thrown.
  • Parry (4): Fury’s martial arts abilities grant her +4 Parry
  • Stun (3) contingent: Fury’s Escrima Sticks can be used to Stun foes. This power takes effect upon a successful hit (regardless of damage), opponents must succeed against Vigor –2 or become Stunned.
