Evelyn Wu is the current Mayor of San Francisco. She has no known superpowers. She’s currently preparing for an incumbent run for office, despite several major controversies and accusations of corruption.

Toynbee is a well-known member of The Drift and vocal critic of the city’s elite. Rarely seen in person, he roams around the neighborhoods near Haight-Ashbury in a highly customized camper van with large built-in radio and broadcasting equipment.

Born Emilia Zharova into a lineage steeped in mystical traditions, the heroine Emberwing was raised in a secluded estate in the Ural Mountains. Her family, part of the ancient Order of the Phoenix, was entrusted with safeguarding the sacred Phoenix Flame—a powerful elemental force they had protected for generations. While Emilia was taught the legends surrounding the Phoenix Flame, she dismissed them as mere family lore.

Born Mia Castillo to a Filipino-American mechanic and a Mexican immigrant mother, Fury grew up in the inner city, where she trained in Kali (Escrima) and Jeet Kune Do from a young age. She discovered her short-range teleportation powers in her late teens during a dangerous encounter with gang members threatening her father’s auto body shop.

Born Siku Rasmussen to a Danish Anthropologist and an Inuktun mother, the hero Glacier was raised in the frozen village of Thule in northern Greenland. Eventually his father’s career took them to Canada and Alaska, but Siku always felt a strong connection to his heritage and the glacial north of his ancestors.

PhD student Albert Higgs was working on groundbreaking experiments in quantum field theory at Stanford’s newly completed Quantum Studies Lab (dubbed “The Solarium” by the students for its entirely glass roof) when a poorly contained sample of Administratium destabilized the Very Tiny Hadron Collider, causing an explosion, and exposing Higgs to a rare new isotope. Consumed with radicalized quantum energies, Albert barely survived with a slight glow to his skin, and newly gained mastery over quantum energies.

As Bill headed for the picket lines, the utility called in the union busters, only this time it wasn’t goons with bats, but automatons with anti-crowd control weapons.
